Chronic Illness Therapy
In person (Miami) and online (Florida + PSYPACT states)
Your diagnosis changed everything. The psychological weight of that deserves the same attention as the medical management of it.
There is a particular kind of exhaustion that comes with managing a chronic illness. It is not just physical.
Many people living with chronic illness describe the same thing: the diagnosis brought some relief, and then came grief they were not expecting. Grief over a life that changed without their permission, a future that had to be reimagined, and a version of themselves they are still learning to recognize. That grief is real, and it almost never gets addressed in a 15-minute medical appointment.
Common Areas of Focus
Autoimmune Disorders
Fibromyalgia & Chronic Pain
Somatic Symptom Disorder
Complex Medical Diagnoses
Interstitial Cystitis & Bladder Pain Syndrome
Facial Paralysis and Bell’s Palsy
Pelvic Pain
Medical Trauma
Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS)
Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS)
The emotional impact of chronic illnesses and conditions such as autoimmune conditions, facial paralysis, IC, POTS, and other conditions that medicine has historically dismissed or undertreated deserves more than a referral to a general therapist. Our practice brings both clinical training in health psychology and lived personal experience with chronic illness to this work. That changes what is possible in the room.
